Historical Background
The Faculty of Medicine was established on 20 August 1952.
Vision:
To make USU’s Faculty of Medicine a leading institution of medical education as well as a center of excellence in the field of tropical medicine and malignant diseases (oncology) in Indonesia .
Missions:
- To improve the quality of professional, ethical and competency-based human resources.
- To develop a competency-based curriculum with a community medicine approach.
- To concentrate on deepening students’ knowledge and skills in primary health care, especially in tropical and malignant diseases.
- To establish cooperation with other institutions in the field of tropical medicine and malignant diseases.
- To improve and complete facilities and infrastructure that reinforce the learning and research processes related to tropical medicine and malignant diseases.
