Historical Background

The Bachelor’s Degree Program of Public Health was inaugurated on 31 July 1985 under the management of the Faculty of Medicine (PSKM-USU). Based on the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia No. 0376/12/1993 on 21 October 1993, the Bachelor’s Degree Program of Public Health moved under the management of the Faculty of Public Health, which was inaugurated by the Minister of Education and Culture on 25 January 1994 as the 10th faculty at the University of Sumatera Utara. 

Vision:  

To develop public health personnel.

Missions:

• To organize and develop educational activities to produce bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree graduates of Public Health based on the competencies in the field of public health.
• To organize and develop scientific research contributing to the development of public health, the achievement of graduate competencies and problem-solving of public health issues.
• To organize and develop public services that can contribute to the development of art, knowledge, public health technology, the competence of graduates and problem-solving of public health issues.
