Fakultas Psikologi

The Psychology Study Program (PS) was established in 1999 and began receiving its first batch of students to attend the bachelor’s degree  program in the 1999/2000 academic year. The new admission system was conducted through the State University Entrance Examination (UMPTN) which later became the UMB (Joint Entry Examination), and the PMP (Interest and Achievement Scouting). In recent years, the admission selection system has been added through the SNMPTN (National Selection for State Universities) and SPMPRM (Selection of Admission for Independent Regular Program).

In the 2003/2004 academic year, the Psychology Study Program produced its first graduates. By starting to produce graduates, the Psychology Study Program applied for the accreditation to the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) and as a result it obtained B value. On July 16, 2007 the Psychology Study Program formerly under  the Faculty of Medicine was officially established as the Faculty of Psychology.

In 2010 the Bachelor’s Degree Program of Psychology again applied for the second accreditation process to the National Accreditation Board of Higher Education (BAN-PT) and based on the BAN-PT Decree No. 032/BAN-PT/Ak-XIII/S1/XII/2010, the Bachelor’s Degree Program of Psychology earned B value.

Since 2015, the target of the Bachelor’s Degree Study Program has been “To Be a faculty with the highest accreditation and pioneering international recognition”, which is then grouped into three pillars. In the Pillar of Education and Teaching, curriculum adjustments, conducted in a conducive academic atmosphere and developing intellectual behaviour based on BINTANG Values (Being cautious to God in the frame of diversity, Innovative, Integrity, and Strong as well as Wise), in order to produce the highly competitive Alumni, are made based on the Indonesian National Qualification Framework (KKNI) standard with academic excellence in Local Wisdom and Agroindustry. In the Research Pillar, the efforts of internalizing the research culture follow the Roadmap of Research based on Local Wisdom and Agroindustry which will be used to improve the quality of teaching materials as well as to conduct dignified research collaboration. In the Pillar of Community Service, the empowerment of culture to society is emphatically based on the Roadmap of Local Wisdom and Agroindustry Research, as well as it conducts the Collaboration of Academy-Business-Community-Government (ABCG) and the institutional cooperation for the Village Partnership and the Disaster Management empowerment programs.

The effort to guarantee the quality of psychology education activities has been started by publishing guidance on education implementation in the study program, thesis preparation guidance and some other guidances/references. Quality assurance activities do not only provide institutional credibility but also maintain a conducive academic atmosphere. To ensure the implementation of quality management, various quality manuals, procedure manuals, work instructions, and supporting documents are developed continuously. Quality assurance activities become the commitment of all individuals who are in the system of the organization. Effective communication between individuals needs to be established in the process of quality management. Making Self-Evaluation and Work Plan on a regular basis in each year are effective means of interaction between elements of the organization. The external evaluation of the Bachelor’s Degree Program that has been implemented by the National Accreditation Board (BAN) serves as a starting point in the quality management. The accreditation targets of the Master’s Degree Program are also triggers in the quality assurance efforts. Long-term targets should also be attained by the regional/international accreditation target.

In the future, homework that has been completed by the Psychology Bachelor’s Degree Program is preparing graduates who can compete in the global level especially with the enactment of ASEAN Economic Community and International Quality Framework which among others, the consequence is the mastery of information and professional technologies, foreign languages, and networking ability.
